Overview

Water Sort: Color Puzzle is a casual logic puzzle game published on Google Play. Players exercise spatial reasoning to sort colored liquid layers across test tubes until each tube holds a single solid color. Featuring fluid pouring physics and responsive haptics, the game offers a deeply satisfying and accessible brain teaser.

AI-Driven Development Life Cycle (AI-DLC)

Water Sort was built end-to-end adopting the AI-Driven Development Life Cycle (AI-DLC) — a software engineering methodology where artificial intelligence acts as the primary driver of planning, coding, and deployment while human engineers guide and validate the work:

  • AI-Driven Planning & Heuristic Solver: Artificial intelligence drove the procedural puzzle formulation, applying graph search heuristics (A* and BFS) to mathematically prove that every generated layout is 100% solvable without pay-to-win mechanics.
  • AI-Generated Invariant & State Tests: AI agents were tasked with authoring comprehensive unit and widget tests validating pouring rules, liquid capacity limits, color mixing boundaries, and undo/redo stacks.
  • Automated Nocturnal Code Quality Audits: Employed scheduled nocturnal AI analysis jobs to review code changes, identify unnecessary Canvas repaints, and verify clean asset disposal before deployment.
  • Radically Shorter Turnover Time: With AI driving the bulk of repetitive planning, coding, and validation, development turnover was slashed by more than 50% while human engineers focused on tactile polish and fluid mechanics.

Architectural Highlights

  • Fluid Pouring Animation Pipeline: Simulated liquid pouring dynamics and surface ripples using parametric cubic Bezier curves rendered on optimized Flutter CustomPainter surfaces.
  • Predictable Immutable Game State: Structured game state as immutable records, enabling instant time-travel undos, hints, and zero memory degradation across long play sessions.
  • Adaptive Screen Layout Engine: Dynamically scaled tube geometry, spacing, and liquid meniscus layers across a wide spectrum of mobile aspect ratios and tablet displays.

Key Outcomes

  • Published live on the Google Play Store with responsive touch feedback and crisp visuals.
  • Achieved consistent 60fps rendering during continuous multi-tube fluid pouring animations.
  • Proven development turnaround savings of over 50% using AI-DLC engineering workflows.
